Mr. William "Tom" Baker, age 88 passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at his residence.
Mr. Baker was born September 10, 1922, in Sparta,TN to J. C. and Gusta Baker.
He is survived by wife of 23 years Paula Baker; children, Shirley Baker, Joyce Crusie, Robert (Bob) Baker and wife Louise, Bill Baker and wife Rita and Deland Baker and wife Edna all of Sparta; step children, Glen Conley Jr. and wife Kathy, Peggy Sapp and husband Jason, Wanda Bowman and husband Kenneth, Paul Hutson and Michelle Allen all of Sparta; brothers Dick Baker and Sam Baker of Sparta; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren and 1 step great great grandchild. Also a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded death by his parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister, grandchild and great grandchild.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Thurman Funeral Home. Officiating will be Bro. J. C. Allen.
Family will receive friends Friday, March 25, 2011 at 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M.
