Victoria Haney

August 9, 1924 — October 5, 2009

Vickie Iles DeRossette Haney, age 85 was born August 9, 1924 to Porter Whitten Iles and Lena Pickett Iles in Hamilton County, Tennessee.

She passed away on Monday, October 5, 2009 at the Bethesda Health Care in Cookeville, TN.

She was a founding member of the Findlay Church of Christ. She attended Tennessee Polytechnic Institute (TTU). She taught school at Pleasant Hill Academy in Pleasant Hill, TN under the War Permit. She was a homemaker. She worked in health care and later as a Resident Manager for Pacesetters. She was past Presidents of West Side and East Side City Schools PTA and Findlay Home
Demostration Club. For many years she taught Ladies Bible Class, Sunday and Wednesdy Night Bible Classes and Vacation Bible School.

She was preceded in death by her parents and step-mother Narcissa Iles, husbands, James Clyde DeRossette and Hilman George Haney granddaughter, Laressa Moore; brothers, Norman, Foster and Creed Iles; and son-in-law Larry Moore.

Her family includes two daughters and son-in-law, Brenda Epperson husband Tom of Cookeville,TN and Connie Dunn of Norcross, GA; three grandchildren, Derlyn Moore Dunn, Serena and Curtis Lair and Adrienne and Chris Meadows. One great-grandchild Talan Meadows and four very special children, Paige, Chandler, Nina and Patrick Koch. Two sisters, Upha Ross of Sparta and Dot Wilkerson of Ashland City. Two brothers, Murphy and Rosemary Iles and Newt Iles; sisters-in-laws Betty Iles of Pleasant Hill, TN and Jocelyn Iles of Phoenix, AZ.: a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, October 8, 2009, officiating will be Bro. Bill McCormick. Interment will be in the Highland Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Thurman Funeral Home from 6 pm till 9pm.
