Rudolph Roman Miller, Jr., age 99, passed away on August 9, 2024 at Wyndridge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Crossville, TN.
He was born January 24, 1925 to the late Rudolph Roman Miller Sr. and Zofia Dembowski Miller in Chicago, Illinois.
Rudy was drafted into the United States Army in June 23, 1943 serving in WWII. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his actions in Althorn, France. Rudy volunteered to enter an enemy minefield under heavy mortar and small arms fire to help evacuate several wounded men; there he lost his leg. After his service to our country Rudy went on to get a Bachelor of Fine Art at Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD. He continued to use his artist training for many years. Rudy owned and operated Indian Head Sportsman’s Den In Indian Head, Maryland for over 50 years. Rudy was a man of many talents. He was a loving husband, father, and friend leaving a legacy to be remembered forever.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Cummings Miller; daughters, Sharnel Smith-Bhatti, Robin Holmes; sons, Tomas Gunn, Brian Miller; 5 Grandchildren; 8 Great grandchildren.
