Mr. Roy Lee Prater, age 99, resident of Hickory Valley Community, Passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at his home.
He was born February 12, 1917 to Sam Prater and Daisy Graham Prater in White County, Tennessee.
Mr. Prater served in WWII with the United States Army, April 1941 - May 1945.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lavada Marie Kirby Prater.
He is survived by his children, Jerry L. Prater, Harold Prater both of Sparta and Rethia Roberts and husband Steve of Tellico Plains; grandchildren, Johnny Prater of Sparta, TN, Christina Gendreau and husband Mike of San Diego, CA and Jimmy M. Prater of Sparta, TN, Jefferey Roberts and wife Alicia, Heather Roberts of Ooltewah; 6 great grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS
Funeral services will be at Thurman Funeral Home, Friday, May 13, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. with Bro. Joe Neal officiating, interment will follow at Old Union Cemetery. Visitation will be at Thurman Funeral Home, Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M.
