Mrs. Rintha Mae McCarter Brown, age 97, passed away quietly Monday, February 17, 2014 in Lynchburg, VA. She was formerly of Walling, TN. And had previously lived in Greeneville, TN.
Mrs. Brown was born February 15th, 1917, the daughter of Oscar McCarter and Josephine Ramsey McCarter of Philadelphia, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Herbert Brown (2001); one son, Robert Vernon Brown (1949); 8 brothers, 2 sisters.
She was survived by her two sons, James Paul Brown and wife Mary of Lynchburg, VA and Fred Thomas Brown and wife Charlene of Sparta, TN; sister, Viola McCarter Neal Wilson of Pine Knot, KY; 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson.
ARRANGEMENTS
Memorial services will be at Thurman Funeral Home, Saturday, March 22nd, 2014 at 11 a.m., officiating Bro. James Rittenberry of Sparta, TN, with private interment.
Family will receive friends at Thurman Funeral Home, Saturday, March 22nd, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00.
