Retha Williams

Mrs. Retha Walker Williams, age 84, passed away Friday, October 23, 2009, at the White County Community Hospital. She was born August 9, 1925, to Dave Walker and Lala Weaver Walker in White County, Tennessee. Retha enjoyed 49 years of marriage to Hollis Rhea Williams and together they ran the Sparta Feed Store. She was a lifelong member of the Church Of Christ and attended services at the Cherry Creek Church of Christ.She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.She is survived by her son, Blake Williams and daughter-in-law Kimberly Williams of Sparta; granddaughters Melea Johnson and husband, Brad of Sparta, and Alicia Williams of Cookeville; great-grandson Matthew Walker Johnson of Sparta; one brother Erby Gene Walker and sister-in-law Sue of Sparta. Funeral services will be held at Thurman Funeral Home, 3:00 p.m., Monday, October 26, 2009, officiating will be her son Blake Williams. Interment will be in the Plainview Cemetery (Hwy. 84). Family will receive friends on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. till 6:30 p.m.
