Edgar Randall "Randy" Oates, age 51, of Lost Creek Community, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2013.
He was born July 30, 1962 in Dayton, Ohio to William Amples " Bill" and Mildred Frances Robertson Oates.
He moved to Sparta, Tennessee in 2012 to be closer to his grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents, father in law, Edward Mullins, his mother in law, Amy Lewis Mullins and two brother in laws, Bob Thacker and Harold Thacker Jr..
Survivors include wife of 33 years, Starla Ann Oates of Sparta; daughter and son in law, Kelly and Greg Burchett of Sparta; son, Aaron R. Oates of Columbus, Ohio; siblings, Carla Voisard, Lelane Oates, Rita Woodbury and husband Tom all of Florida, Jeanne Estridge and husband Bill, Lynn Oates all of Ohio and Robin Austin and husband Dave of Georgia; brothers and sisters, John and Marilyn Thacker of Georgia and Mary Thacker of Ohio; Three grandbabies, Corinne Burchett, Ryleigh Burchett and Peyton Burchett. Also a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
ARRANGEMENTS
Funeral services at Thurman Funeral Home, Tuesday, October 22nd, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. Burial will at later date. Family would like to invite you to the gathering at Central Church of Christ after the funeral services.
