Nettie Norton

Nettie Bell Stanley Norton, age 98, of Sparta,TN, passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Bethesda Health Care in Cookeville, TN. She was born in Putnam County, TN , July 5, 1914 to John William Stanley and Laura Phillips Stanley.
Mrs. Norton was a life time faithful member of the Church of Christ, until her illness she worshiped with the Lansden congregation. She enjoyed her gardening, canning and preserving all her produce, and sharing with her family and friends. Also she was a skilled quilter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Silas Cole and Paul L. Norton; son, Jimmy Earl Norton;1brother and 2 sisters.
Survivors include her children, Carrie Jones- Sparta, Clara Haggard- PA, John Norton, Jerry Norton and Roger Norton- all of Sparta, Marvin Norton- MI, ; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; brother, Bill Stanley of Shelbyville, TN; step daughters, Alma Rose Johnson- Sparta, Ruby Ross-IN. Also several extended step family;.
ARRANGEMETS
Funeral services will be held at Thurman Funeral Home, Friday, November 9, 2012 at 1 pm. Officiating will be Bro. Dwight Fuqua and Bro. Bobby Wilhite. Interment will follow in the Elrod Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at Thurman Funeral Home, Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 4pm till 9 pm .
