Morette "Jean" Haston, a beloved homemaker and a pillar of strength and devotion, passed away on December 17,2024, at Life Care in Sparta, Tennessee, after a brief illness. She was born on September 28, 1931, in Sparta. She proudly spent her life cultivating a loving family and a vibrant community.

A graduate of White County High School, Jean nurtured a strong foundation for her future as a mother and wife. Her unwavering faith defined her character; she was a devoted and strong Christian woman, exemplifying the ideals she taught to her loved ones.

Jean's passion for family shone brightly through her cherished memories. She lovingly recalled the moments spent with her father, singing together in the evenings, as well as her heartfelt lesson from her mother about her favorite Bible verse, Matthew 7:13-14, which she carried with her throughout her life. Her proudest accomplishments centered around her role as a devoted mother and wife, as she always placed her family first.

In addition to her dedication to family, Jean found joy in various hobbies and interests, including sewing, collecting rocks ,and gardening. Her love for the outdoors allowed her to create beautiful spaces that reflected her nurturing spirit.

Jean is survived by her two sons: Jeffrey L. Haston of Spencer, TN, two grandsons, Christopher J. Haston of Nashville, TN, and Matthew J. Haston and his wife Allison of Lansing, MI, and a great-granddaughter, Maddie Haston of Lansing, MI. 

Son, Randall E. Haston and his wife Shirley of Spring Hill, TN, and her granddaughter, Rachel A. Batey of Columbia, TN.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel J. Haston, sister, Essie Lee Bennett Mosley, and six brothers: Alton, Paul, Artrie, Denton, Avon, and an infant brother whose name is not known.

As we remember Morette "Jean" Haston, we celebrate the life of a remarkable woman whose legacy of love, faith, and devotion will continue through her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
