Mrs. Millie Simmons Pettit, age 95 of Quebeck, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010, at her home.
Mrs. Pettit was born June 19, 1915 to Eligah and Maggie Simmons of Quebeck,Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 49 years Cart Dillon Pettit, sister Hazel Fisher and son-in-law C. J. Cocke.
She was a retired teacher in the White County School System. Also she was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include son James Dillon of Quebeck, daughters Carmilla Jane Cocke of Quebeck and Jewel DeJuan (Steve) Cayce of Doyle, sister Ona Mae Savage, grandchildren, Jamye, Cameron (Kristen) and Matthew Pettit, Jacob and Jordan (Tisha) Cocke, Joel Cart (Martha) Cayce, C.K. (Josh) Cayce Taylor, Andrea (Terry) Geer, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at Thurman Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M. Officiating will be Bro. Bill Lowery. Interment will follow in the Anderson Cemetery. Pallbearers are Joel Cart Cayce, Jacob Cocke, Cameron Pettit, Jimmy Cannon, Chris McBride, and David McBride.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Thurman Funeral Home from 4:00 pm till 8:00 pm.
