Mattie Poore

Mattie Louise Poore passed from this earth on January 1, 2023.

She was born in Sparta, Tennessee on January 6, 1939.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Lula Brady; son, Joe (Boone) Bennett, grand-daughter, Sari McGill; brother-in-law, Elijah Poore.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jerry Roger Poore; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Poore; daughters, Frances (Johnny) McGill, Jeri (Paul) Burks, Levona (Lanny) Davis; grandchildren, Angela McGil, Dewanna (Charlie) Goines, Regina McGill, James McGill, Christopher Woodcock, Caitlin Burks (Trevin Wright), Samantha Burks (Matthew Kenney); great-grandchildren, Donathan Maxwell, Derrick Maxwell, Dyllan Maxwell, Dakota Maxwell, Jessie Goines, Mary Goines, Cynthia (Michael) Lawson, Kevin Kenney, Jerimiah Kenney, with a baby boy (Kenney) due in March 2023, along with a host of great great-grandchildren.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Gentiva Hospice.

Arrangements:

The family will receive family and friends in the Chapel of Thurman Funeral Home from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, January 06, 2023. Bro. Greg Jenkins will be officiating at 1:00 pm. After services, burial will take place at New Hope Cemetery.
