Mrs. Mary Etta Goines, 91, was born in White County, Tennessee on April 26, 1919 to Norman and Maggie Taylor Howell. Mrs. Goines passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Life Care Center of Sparta, Tennessee. She is survived by children, Kenneth Goines; Harlon Goines and wife, Gail; Joe Goines and wife, Linda; Charlotte Bohannon and husband, Myles; and Charles Goines and wife, Sherry all of Sparta; and Mildred Stephens and husband, Bobby of Smithville; brother, Edward Howell and wife, Beulah of Sparta; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great- great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Casto "Cass" Goines, grandson, David Kelly Bohannon, brothers and sisters, Robert, Fred and Clifford Howell, Lourena Eller and Lillian Weaver.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Thurman Funeral Home, officiating will be Bro.James Rittenbury and Bro. Sammy Cooper, interment in the Lower Cherry Creek Cemetery. Pall bearers are Myles Bohannon, Bobby Stephens, Randall Price, Louie Medley, Patrick Garrison and Chris Goines. Family will receive friends Monday, June 21, 2010 at Thurman Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thurman Funeral Home, LLC of Sparta, TN in charge of the arrangements.
