Mrs. Lula B. Watson, age 87, was born in DeKalb County, Tennessee on January 23, 1923 to W. M. "Billy" and Mary Young Billings. Mrs. Watson began celebrating her new life with the Lord and her daughter, Devon, on Sunday, April 11, 2010. She is survived by her husband, Ray Watson of Doyle; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Barry Roberts of Walling; son, Phillip Watson of Sparta; grandchildren, Raela Gore and Janna Gore, both of Doyle; Brandon Roberts and wife, Angie Roberts of Doyle; Rachel Roberts of Sparta; great-granddaughter, Olivia Roberts of Doyle; sister, Ruth Stewart of Sparta; sister-in-laws, Emma Lillian McKellips, Florene Watson, Joyce Billings, and Nannie Mae Billings; brother-in-law, Ralph Saylors. Also a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Watson was also preceded by her parents; daughter, Devon Watson; brothers, Joe " Tom" and Oscar " Doc"; sisters, Willie, Ada, Betty, Maude, Ethel and Jimmie..
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home. Interment in the Doyle Cemetery, with Pastor Jim Moore officiating.
Pallbearers Steve Cayce, David McBride, Chris McBride, David Delk,Benny Joe McDonald and Lin Dalton; Honorary Pallbearers Staff of Life Care Center and the Staff of Middle Tennessee Natural Gas. Family will receive friends Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Thurman Funeral Home at 5 p.m. til 9 p.m. Also on Wednesday at 9 a.m. til time of service.
