Loretta M. Griffin, age 86, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017 at NHC of Sparta with her family surrounding her.
She was born on May 13, 1931 in Sparta, Tennessee to Van Hugh LaFever and Eara Geneva Price LaFever.
Her enjoyments were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also she was a member of Lansden Church of Christ.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one brother and husband of 54 years Leonard Ray Griffin.
She is survived by her daughters and son in laws, Elaine / Steve Dodson of Sparta, TN and Linda / Bobby Henry of Sparta, TN; brother, James LaFever; sisters, Joyce Bray, Catherine Dunn, Irene Lawson and Shirley LaFever; 5 grandchildren and spouses, Kevin/Tammy Slatten, Shane/ Tiffany Simmons, David/ Christal Dodson, April Simmons and Mariska Dodson; 7 great grandchildren, Seth Simmons, Sidney Simmons, Amanda Slatten, Allen O’Dell, Shuttera O’Dell, Kaylee Luna and Grant Dodson.
ARRANGEMENTS:
Funeral services will be held at Thurman Funeral Home Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be Bro. Ronnie Taylor. Interment will follow at Saylors Cemetery.
Family will be accepting visitors from 10:30 a.m. –2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Thurman Funeral Home.
