Lorene Hickey
August 4, 1915 — June 21, 2012
Lorene Phifer Hickey, age 96, of Sparta, passed away on June 21, 2012. She was born August 4, 1915 in White County to Bradley Stewart Phifer and Ritha Hudgens Phifer, and was a life long resident of White County. Lorene was a wife, mother, homemaker and farmer and had worked long-term for the Sparta Shirt Factory and Mallory Industries.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jeff Hickey, four sisters, Margie Richards, Vallie Jenkins, Dannie Oliver and Maude Grissom; three brothers, Gaines, Howard and Mark; and a grandson, Paul Thomas Hickey, Jr.
Survivors include her sons, William J. Hickey, Jr. (Nancy Johnson Hickey) of Nashville and Paul Thomas Hickey, Sr. (Marie Guidry Hickey) of Tomball, TX; one granddaughter, Shannon (Scott) Sarrat of New Orleans, LA; two grandsons, Stephen Hickey (Jennifer Hickey) of Sparta and William J. Hickey, III, of Orlando, FL; four great-granddaughters, Teagan Hickey, Stepheny Hickey and Ashlee Hickey of Sparta and Claire Hickey of New Orleans; and three great-grandsons, Will Hickey of Sparta, Thomas and Andrew Hickey of New Orleans.
Arrangements:
Funeral services Monday, June 25, 2012 at Thurman Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m., visitation will be on Monday, June 25, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service, burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery in Sparta.
