Laura Jean Carrick, age 88, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, June 6, 2014, while at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born in McMinnville, Tennessee, on June 16, 1925. Her parents were Charlie Heslie Worthington and Georgia Mae Burden Worthington. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dave Eugene Carrick, her brother, Charles Junior Worthington, her sisters, Elizabeth Cullom, and Beulah Burgess. Survivors include her son, David Charles Carrick of Cookeville, her daughters, Wilma Jean Gwynn of Los Angeles, CA., Linda Irby and husband Morris of Cookeville, and Laura Ann Roberts of Sparta. Her grandchildren are Randall Gwynn, Kristie McMurry, Derrick Gwynn, John Roberts Jr., Keonnia Summers, and Jannae Carrick. Her great grandchildren are Toiya Gwynn, Tia Gwynn, Olivia Johnson, Kaylyn Summers, Larissa Henderson and Grayson Summers. She is also survived by a sister, Christine Gribble of Sparta, as well as numerous friends and loved ones.
ARRANGEMENTS
Funeral service at Sparta First United Methodist Church, Monday, June 9, 2014 at 2:00 pm. Officiating will be Rev. Robert Utley. Interment will be in the Davis Cemetery at Sparta, Tennessee.
Family will receive friends at Sparta First United Methodist Church, Monday, June 9 2014, at 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
