Jt Gracey

May 8, 1927 — February 20, 2020

Mr. JT Gracey, age 92, passed away on February 20, 2020 at Life Care of Sparta, Tennessee.

JT was the son of Monroe and Maude Jones Gracey, and a lifelong resident of Sparta.

He is survived by his wife Allene Gracey and foster daughter, Kelly Cope of Sparta; Grandchildren, Brandon Cope of Sparta, and Kara Haney of Sanford, Florida; Great grand-daughter, Blakelyn Cope of Sparta.

In addition to his parents, JT is preceded in death by a sister, Odell Gracey Anderson; and two brothers, Johnny Gracey and William Earl Gracey. Also, an uncle O.T Jones and aunt, Nola Jones Houser; and nephew, Jerry Anderson of Hobart, Indiana.

He was a member of Corinth Church of Christ and served his community and church in many capacities. He was a former member of Sparta Jaycees and worked with both Sparta (15 years) and Crossville ( 5 years) Fire Departments.

He owned and operated the former O.T. Jones Farm for 32 years in addition to working to working several full time positions with Good Year Store (7 years), White County Lumber company, Potter Freight Lines (26 years), and White County Board of Education as a bus driver (8 years). Also, J.T. owned 4 Service station in Sparta and managed several  rental properties, but he truly was an avid collector and wildly known in the antique business. Coin and gun collectors throughout the area considered J.T. an expert appraiser.

Arrangements:

Visitation will be Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 10:00AM until 2:00PM

Funeral Service will begin on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at 2:00PM. Interment at Old Zion Cemetery. Officiating: Bro. Jimmy Cooke and Bro. John Pippin.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Old Zion Cemetery.
