Johnny Layne

Johnny F. Layne, age 71, of Walling passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Johnny was born February 12,1940 in Grundy County, Tennessee to Simon Peter Layne and Florence Prater Layne. Survivors include loving wife of 53 years, Charline Scoggin Layne of Walling; three children, Victoria Ann Matthews/ Mike, and Rebecca Layne/ Allen Johnson; five grandchildren, Eli Masters of Knoxville, Amanda Masters of Louisville, KY, Rachelle Tucker of Kansas City, MO, Alexandra Johnson and Andrew Johnson of Sparta, two step grandchildren, David Matthews/ Shayna of Glen Burnie MD and Austin Johnson of Cookeville; four great grandchildren, Justus, Trenton, Destiny and Eric of Harrisonville, Mo. Daughter-in-Law, Annette Layne. Harrisonville, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard Alan Layne; infant brother, Malcolm Leroy Layne.

Family will receive friends Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 6:00 pm till 8: 00 pm. in the chapel of Thurman Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 11, 2011 at 1:00 pm, at Findlay Church of Christ, Bro. Dwight Fuqua officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeff Young, Jeremy Hayes, Brad Green, Andrew Green, David Cook, Edward Newport, Allen Newport and Eric Layne. Burial will follow in the New Bon Air Cemetery.
