John Morgan

John J. Morgan, 87, of Princeton,  passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023 at the River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton.  He was born March 27, 1935 in White County, TN, the son of Samuel J and Elector T. (Eller) Morgan.

He married Margaret Jane Biven, on May 30 1953 in Anderson, IN. John lived most of his life in Patoka, IN.  In 2000, John and Maggie moved to their retirement home in Sparta, TN, returning to southern Indiana in 2015. John had worked for Potter and Brumfield for 17 years and was an engineer for Southern Railroad for 30 years retiring in 2000.

He is survived by his children, John Morgan (Donna) of Bryceville, FL, Marie Lynch (Mike) of Roscoe, IL, Ken Morgan (Marilou) of Fishers  Norma Jean Harvey (David) of Oakland City, Ron Morgan (Julie) of Princeton, IN; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 68 years, Maggie Morgan in 2021; brother, Lloyd; sisters Margie, Doris and Jean

There will be a visitation from 4 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton.  There will also be a visitation at the Thurman Funeral Home, 44 N. Main St., Sparta, TN, from 9 a.m. until 11a.m. on Friday March 1, 2023, followed by a funeral service at 11a.m. on Friday. Burial will follow at the Nash Cemetery in Sparta.
