Mrs. Jessie Rhea Phifer Bratcher, age 92, was born in White County, Tennessee, on November 10, 1917 to Clarence Phifer and Myrtle Guy Phifer. Mrs. Bratcher passed on Thursday, May 6, 2010, at the NHC of Cookeville, Tennessee. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 plus years, James C. Bratcher of Cookeville; daughters and son-in-law, Carolyn Terry and Avery Roberts of Silver Point, Tennessee; and Sherry Meyers and special friend, Loren Holton of Macomb, MI; sisters, Johnnie Hudson and special friend, Norman Calbow of Sparta; Hazel C. Whittington of IL; and Merilyn A. Denty of Mt. Morris, MI; brother, Hollis E. Phifer of Doyle; grandson, Travis Lee and Melissa Roberts of Silver Point, TN; great-granddaughter, Merisa Roberts of Silver Point; and great-grandson, Patton Hite of Cookeville. Also several nieces and nephews.
Also preceded in death were her parents; sister, Ada Jones; and brother, George Earl Phifer.
Funeral services will be Sunday, May 9, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. at Thurman Funeral Home. Internment in the Doyle Cemetery with Chaplin Barry Boggs officiating. Pallbearers, Eric Jones, Adam Jones, Chris Jones, David Whittington, Debbie Hudson and Butch Phifer.
Family will receive friends Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Thurman Funeral Home from 4 p.m. til 8 p.m. Also on Sunday at 9 A.M. til time of service.
