Herbert Johnson
January 20, 1921 — April 17, 2012
Herbert Johnson, age 91, of Sparta, TN, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2012 at Cookeville Regional Hospital. He was born in Livingston, TN January 20, 1921 to Andy and Dora Maxwell Johnson. He was raised by Tom and Janie Scott of Sparta.
He served in the United States Navy in World War II, he was a member of the Shriner's International and also a member of the Grand Lodge 147, Masons of Dayton, Ohio.
Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Mary Elizabeth Lee Johnson of Sparta; daughter, Gwendolyn Westphal and husband Steven of Sparta; grandchildren, Chad Westphal and Leia of Algood and Crystal and Jacob Cheney of Cape Coral, FL; great grandson, Evan Cheney; brother and sister, Tommy Scott and Mildred Knowles both of Sparta.
Funeral service will be held at O'Connor Church of Christ, Friday, April 20, 2012 at 2pm. Officiating will be Bro. Don Burns. Interment will follow in the Saylors Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at O'Connor Church of Christ, Friday, April 20, 2012 at 12 pm till time of service at 2 pm.
