Harold Mills
February 27, 1933 — July 18, 2016
Harold Burtis Mills age 83 went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 18, 2016. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Harold was a deacon and a member of Pistole Baptist Church and led the singing for more than 65 years. Also he work at Life of Georgia for many years and then worked at Thurman Funeral Home for 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Modena Howell Mills, one son, Harold Burtis Mills, Jr.; three brothers, Curt Mills, Carson Mills and Jimmy Mills; and four sisters, Anna Ruth Holland, Etta Dunn, Venera Mills and Mildred Word.
Survived by his wife of more than 59 years, Deane Spears Mills; three daughters, Kimberley Mills of Sparta, Karen and husband Randy Richards of Cookeville and Lorrie Mills and friend Cindy Mahaffey of Monroe, GA; five grandchildren, Dane Holland, Bryan Holland, Crystal and husband, Mario Clemente, Amanda Richards and Drew Richards; great grandchildren, Izaiah Holland, Keely Holland, Judah Clemente, Marc Clemente and Stella Richardson; and special great grandchildren, Kaden and Makayla; two brothers, Clifford Mills of Sparta and Herbert M. Mills of Cookeville; one sister, Jonelda and husband James Pitman of Sparta and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
ARRANGEMENTS
Funeral services will be at Pistole Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, July 21, 2016 officiating will be Bro. Harlan Simmons and Bro. Clint Walker, and burial will follow in the Saylors Cemetery. Pallbearers, Randy Pitman, Chris Pitman, Mike Holland, Mark Holland, Jeff Mills,Roger Mills, James E. Mills and Alan Dunn; Honorary Pallbearers, Donnie Daniels and Mike Tonsely
Visitation will be on July 20, 2016, Wednesday, at Pistole Baptist Church at 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. Also will be at Pistole Baptist Church at 9:00 A.M. till time of service, Thursday, July 21, 2016.
