Gladys Carter, age 90, of Sparta, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 in NHC of Sparta. She was born October 27, 1921 in White County, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John H. Brown and Ann Bennett Brown; brothers, Paris Brown and John H. Brown; sisters, Mae McBride and Jewell Buck.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Lloyd Carter of Sparta; daughters, Carolyn Kimsey and husband, Barry of Whitwell, TN and Margaret Spiron and husband, Charles of Goldsboro, North Carolina; sisters, Elise Morris and Enzena Pierce both of Sparta, Tennessee. Five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. in chapel of Thurman Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 16, 2012 at the at 10:00 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Saylors Cemetery.
