Eva Edna Key

Eva Edna Rose Key, passed away at Lifecare of Sparta, on March 12, 2018, after a long illness.

Mrs. Key was born on July 12, 1927, in Wild Cat Cove of White County, to Wesley Foster Rose and Nancy Elizabeth Welch Rose.

She attended Lamb School. She has been a member of the Church of God since 1964. Quiet and unassuming, she worked many years in Sparta’s local shirt factories. After retirement, Mrs. Key volunteered for 13 years at the Sparta Help Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Doug Key; son, Kenneth Wayne Key; daughter-in-law, Peggy Gentry; brothers, Carl Rose, Davey and Dewey Donald Rose; brother-in-law, Charlie Key; sister-in-law, Jean Pryor Rose.

Survivors include her children, Rev. Richard (Norma Jean) Key, Joyce (Sam) Kirby, her grandchildren, Richie (Tonya) Key, Robin (Lewis) Carrick, Michael (Jeannie) Ross, Samuel Kirby, Kenetha (Jeffrey) Coffman; Great-grandchildren, Malaysia, Jaya, Kaitlyn, and Christopher Carrick, Emma and Molly Key, Alexis Ross, Arthur Jernigan, and Morgan Roberts, Great-grand-daughter, Angel Jernigan; Brothers, Sterling (Gladys) Rose, Several Nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS

Funeral Service will be Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11 A.M. Interment at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Thursday, March 15, 2018, 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thurman Funeral Home.
