Elise Bennett
March 29, 1923 — April 24, 2017
Elise Dale Kirby Bennett, age 94, passed away on April 24, 2017 at her home in Doyle, Tennessee, with her loving family by her side.
Mrs. Bennett was born March 29, 1923, to Tommy Kirby and Minnie Selby Kirby in Doyle, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Robert (Buck) Bennett; son, Robert Garland Bennett; siblings, Casto Kirby, Florence Kirby Anderson, Gladys Kirby Simmons; half siblings, Lee Clark, Frank Clark, Bailey Clark and Malindia Clark Holman.
Mrs. Bennett enjoyed crafts, quilting, sewing, crocheting, gardening, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and reminiscing about the past. She was proud of her job at the Sparta Shirt Factory, which began when she was 16 years old and continuing until the factory closed, and also the White County Hospital, where she was awarded the first ever "Employee of the Month".
Survivors include her loving son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Bennett and Pat of Sparta; granddaughters, Vicki (Paul) Jarvis, Jeri Lynn Holman and Kim Luna; great-granddaughters, Raychel Jarvis, Jennifer (Andy) Ward, Ashley Holman and Allison Holman; great-great-grandsons, Blake Lockwood and Maddox Ward; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to say special "thank you" to Carrie Day, Mike Kerr, Brenda Harness, Linda Jones, Stacy Dunn, SunCrest Home Health and Caris Healthcare.
Pallbearers: Paul Jarvis, Andy Ward, Daniel Martin, Holden Null, Mike Kerr, Roger Bumbalough, C.B. Sullivan, Jr. and Richard Clark.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral Service will be Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Thurman Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. John Murphy and Bro. Mike Kerr officiating. Internment will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at Thurman Funeral Home, Friday, April 28, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
