Edsel Nesmith

Mr. Edsel Malcolm Nesmith, age 82, was born August 20, 1927 to Francis Tilden Nesmith and Sallie Burroughs in Lufkin, Texas.
He passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center with his loving family there.
Mr. Nesmith served our country in United States Army Air Corps in 1945 as an air traffic controller. He retired from the work he loved, the lumber industry, in 2001.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty Joyce Nesmith, brothers Jerry Mitchell Nesmith and Tilden Nesmith.
His survivors includes his wife of 36 years Eloise Crisp Nesmith, formerly from Robbinsville, NC, of Sparta, TN, children Bruce Nesmith and wife Peggy of Cookeville, TN, David Nesmith and wife Kathy of McMinnville, TN, Mike Nesmith and wife Cathy of Monticello, AR, Jim Nesmith and wife Judy of Cookeville, TN, Donna Renee Flint and husband Dr. Bryan Flint Jr. of Cookeville,TN, and Amy Susanne Nesmith of Cookeville, TN, grandchildren Phillip, Shane, Becky, Chris, Brandi, Keisha, Billy, Joseph, Leslie, Logan, and Bryan III, great grandchildren Brayden, Blake, and Macauley, one brother Arthur Nesmith and wife Tina of Houston, TX
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, November 23, 2009, at Thurman Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Dr. Wesley Henry. Eulogy by Rita Graham. Interment will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Monday, November 23, 2009 at Thurman Funeral Home 10 am till time of service.
