Graveside services for Mrs. Edna Ledford Birdwell, 90, of Knoxville, Tennessee, formerly of the White's Bend Community of Jackson County will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Friday, April 15, at John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends from 11am - 1pm at the Flynn's Creek Church of Christ on Hwy 53, Gainesboro, TN. Mrs. Birdwell passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Manor House Assisted Living in Knoxville, TN. She was a secretary for the Jackson County Sentinel and a member of the Church of Christ. She was born December 5, 1925 to the late Rufus Houston and Carrie Brown Ledford. On May 15, 1950 she was married to the late Joe E. Birdwell. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Kincaid and Pauline Carter, a niece, Helen Dennis and a nephew, Billy Roberts.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Birdwell; son, Paul Birdwell; and grandson, John Houston Ingram all of Knoxville, and a sister, Imogene (Jean) Cason of Mt. Juliet and numerous nieces and nephews as well as other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Tennessee or to a charity of your choice.
