Dorothy Hutchins

Dorothy "Dot" C. McCormick Hutchins age 85, passed away peacefully April 27, 2016. Born February 27, 1931 in Quebeck, TN to the late Beecher Dillard and Lena Mae Phifer McCormick. Graduated from W.C.H.S. in Sparta, TN April 1949 and attended David Lipscomb College in Nashville for two years. She came to Pontiac, MI December 1950 and has lived in Clarkston since 1965. She worked at General Motors, Pontiac Motors Division for 28 years and retired from GM Lake Orion in July 1985 with a total of 32 years of service for General Motors. Mother of three children Martha Ann H. Ley, David Wayne (Paula) and Steven Ray Hutchins; three grandsons Jason Brian (Katherine) Ley, Justin Dillard (Becca) Ley and David Wayne Cantley; two great grandsons Jayden Dillyn Ley and Ashton Land; late uncle William Ray Phifer and several cousins. The family will receive friends at Donelson, Johns and Evans Funeral Home, Waterford, Sunday, May 1, 2016 4-8 p.m.. Funeral service will be held at Thurman Funeral Home, Sparta, TN Wednesday, May 4, 2016, 1:00 p.m.. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service. Interment to follow next to her Dad in the Jericho Church of Christ Cemetery in Quebeck, TN. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jericho Cemetery Fund for maintenance of cemetery.
