Dorothy Eick

Dorothy (Dot) Sue (Billingsley) Van Eick, age 76, passed away Monday, October 13, 2014 in Melbourne, Florida. She was formerly of Sparta, TN.

Dot was born in Nashville, TN on December 12, 1937, the daughter of the late Willie Dee Billingsley and Elizabeth Elsie Wilson Billingsley.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gerard (Jerry) G. Van Eick Sr., Sisters, Mary Elizabeth (Tizzie) Billingsley, Verna May Francis, Billy Kent and Betty Jean Peay.

She is survived by three sons: Gerard G. Van Eick Jr. & wife, Tina, of Sparta, TN, Walter A. Van Eick, Roy B. Van Eick & wife, Lisa, of Melbourne, FL; brothers, Aubrey Ray Billingsley and Willie D. (Jr.) Billingsley; grand children: Rebecca, Erika, Ashley Van Eick.

Dot was devoted to the Lord and worked as a Seamstress and other duties at the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem (ICEJ) for several months each year for over 20 years. She was a great missionary, teacher & loved to travel.

Dot helped anyone that she came in contact with. From family to friends to strangers. If she wasn't currently helping someone out she would be humming a song, reading the Word, or praying. Dot loved Jesus & Israel and wanted to live in Israel. She also liked to bowl on our gaming console when she had the time.

Arrangements:

In lieu of flowers any donations will be forwarded to the ICEJ to plant trees in Israel in Dot Van Eicks name.

Memorial service will be held at Thurman Funeral Home, Thursday, October 30, 2014, at 7 PM. Officiating will be: Pastor H. Brent Tevebaugh.

Family will receive at Thurman Funeral Home, Thursday, October 30, 2014, at 5:00 PM till time of service.

Interment to follow at later date in Nashville, TN.
