Mr. David Eugene Newport, age 72 passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2011, at the Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, GA.
Mr. Newport was born May 26, 1938, to John Marion and Dortha Helen Marsh Newport in Sunbright, TN.
He is survived by sons, Timmy Newport and wife Derisa, Wade Newport; daughter, Gina Trimble and husband Baxter; brother, Elwood Newport and J.C. Newport; sisters, Evelyn Slatton and Gladys Stringfield; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Cletus Newport. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at Thurman Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. till time of service at Thurman Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.
