Clata Elizabeth Kirby, age 93, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at her home with her family.
She was born May 7, 1921 to Lema Moon and Bessie Mabe Moon in Doyle, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 58 years, Ira Kirby; sons, Lloyd Dean Kirby, Ira David Kirby and Walter Joe Kirby; sons-in-law, Curtis Mackie and Freddie W. Dodson; grandson, Walter Joe Kirby, Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Kylie Brooke Mackie and Cara Grace Kirby; and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by daughters, Lois Mackie of Sparta, Janie Garrell (Randy) of Sparta and Varina Dodson of Crossville, TN; sons, Jimmie Earl Kirby (Elaine) of Mt. Hood, Oregon, Danny Kirby (Joyce) of Sparta, TN, Larry Kirby (Tammy) of Sparta, TN and Claude Kirby of Carbondale, Colorado; grandchildren, James David Mackie, Tim Mackie, Linda Mackie Farley, Dr. Alison Kirby Calzaretta, Peter Kirby, Rachel Kirby Singleton, Joe Bob Kirby, Jesse Kirby, Rebecca Garrell Sisk, Richard Garrell, Elizabeth Kirby, Emily Dodson England, and Trevor Dodson; great-grandchildren, Sonia Calzaretta, Gus Calzaretta, Hannah Singleton, Ian Kirby, Amanda Kirby, Rachel Mackie Koser, Caleb Mackie, Hannah Mackie, Kristin Mackie Nosbisch, Stephen Mackie, Dustin Garrell, Kaylee Garrell, Brookelyn Garrell, Justin Farley, Tyler Kirby, Kayla Kirby, Clay Kirby, Maloree Kirby and Colton Kirby; great-great-grandchild, Beckham Mackie; and special friends, Reba Reed and Grover McCoy.
ARRANGEMENTS:
Family will receive friends Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Thurman Funeral Home from 5 p.m. til 9:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Thurman Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m., officiating will be Bro. David Lee England and Bro. Freddie Savage. Interment will follow in the Old Union Cemetery.
