Charles Edward "Ed" Young, age 77, of Sparta, TN, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at his residence in Sparta. He was born January 6, 1935 to Foster Young and Thelma England Young in White County, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Minnie Lee Kerley; two half sisters, Rachel Oliver and Ernestine Cope; two half brothers, James Ray England and Thomas Howard Young.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Nell Young, step son, Bill Burns and wife Polly; brothers and sister, Doug Young and wife Marie, Marie Seibers, Quentin Young and wife Marlon, Arlie Young and Kenneth Young and wife Pat; 2 step grandchildren, Jonathan Burns and wife Kelly and Matthew Burns; Also numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends at Thurman Funeral Home, Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home. Officiating will be Bro. Derrick Coble. Pallbearers, Roger Young, David Young, Foster Young, Randy Young, Jason Young and Kenneth Edward Young.
Interment will be at Shady Grove Cemetery.
