Charles Edward Wood

Charles Edward Wood, Age 75 of Walling, TN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.Surrounded by his family at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN.

He was born on December 24, 1949 in Woodbury, TN to the late James and Verna Wood. He was married to his wife Connie Bryant Wood for 50 years on June 29.

He graduated from White County High School in 1968.He went to barber college in Nashville, TN and barbered for many years in White County. He was a Seebee in the United States Navy. He worked for 29 years for Carrier in Morrison, TN. He was a tobacco farmer, raised pigs and cattle and loved working in his vegetable garden. He was a Christian man and a member of Spring Hill The Baptist Church. He loved to travel, loved social gatherings and going to Central View Market every morning to meet with his friends. He loved his special cat Ms. Quigley.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Connie Wood of Walling, TN; twin daughters, Jamie Wood of Sparta, TN, and Amy Smith (Chris) of Walling, TN; granddaughter, Lily Jordan of Sparta, TN; three sisters, Edna Daniels (Hugh) of Sparta, TN, Rebecca Wilson (Everett) of Walling, TN, Rita O’Conner (Eddie) of Walling, TN.

Pallbearers, Sam Marcum, Lee Norman, David Hunter, Richard Gallagher, John Cloney, Marion Knowles.

Honorary Pallbearers, Steve Simmons, Brad Daniels, Garrett Daniels, Brent Farley, Alton Marcum, James Dodson.

Arrangements:

Visitation will be Friday January 31, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. at Spring Hill The Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be Saturday February 1, 2025 starting at 9:00 am until 12:00 pm funeral service starting at 12:00 pm at Spring Hill The Baptist Church. Interment at Spring Hill Cemetery. Officiating will be Bro. Frank Randolph.
