Mrs. Carolyn West Haston, 67, of Philadelphia, MS passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014 at her residence.
Mrs. Haston was born in Detroit, MI on May 13, 1946 and was the daughter of Argel and Effie West.
Mrs. Haston enjoyed reading, writing poetry and children's stories and spending time with her family, children & grandchildren. Carolyn is survived by her husband of 34 years, George Thomas Haston Jr. of Philadelphia, MS. She had one brother, Dennis (Cathy) West of Cookeville, TN. Carolyn is survived by children, Sherry Turner (Greg Brown) of Sparta, TN; Susan (Tom) Moore of Breckenridge, TX; Jason (Dawn) Haston of Philadelphia, MS; Josh(Angell) Haston of Philadelphia, MS; Cyndi Lowery of Murfreesboro, TN; & Jose Monroe of Philadelphia, Ms; Grandchildren: Chris Turner, Kayla(Tony)Grissom, Brett Turner, Alex(Sara)Moore, Trey Moore, Caleb Moore, Keeley Haston, Blake Haston, SaraBeth Haston, Jessica Diveley, Lauren Gilmer, Tyler Gilmer, Hali(Chris)Howard,Hillary (Joel) Morgan, Curronica Lowery, Mahayla Lowery and 10 great grandchildren. She also has many friends and extended family, too numerous to mention.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services begin Sunday, January 5, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Haston Cemetery. Pastor Tom Moore will be officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Thurman Funeral Home, Sparta, TN starting at 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
